The Celtic Football Club has announced that tickets for their upcoming match against Dundee United have gone on sale and are now sold out within one hour of going on sale.
The news comes as a surprise to many fans who were hoping to secure their place at Parkhead Stadium for what is expected to be a thrilling encounter between two local rivals.
However, it seems that demand for tickets was so high that they could not keep up with the influx of applications from fans eager to attend the game.
Celtic's head of commercial operations, Peter Lawwell, said: "We're delighted to see such strong interest in our home games, but we want to make sure that all fans can enjoy the experience."
Lawwell added that they will be looking into ways to increase capacity at Parkhead Stadium, which currently holds over 41,000 people.
Meanwhile, Dundee United manager, Neil Lennon, praised his players for their performance in the Scottish Cup final last weekend, saying: "It was a great game and I'm proud of my team's effort.
"We'll take this confidence into the new season and look forward to facing Celtic again."
