Bayern Munich secured their second consecutive victory in the Bundesliga with a dominant performance against Borussia Dortmund at Allianz Arena on Saturday evening.
The German giants took control from the off and were never truly threatened by their visitors. Bayern dominated possession and created numerous opportunities to score. The hosts had three shots on target in the first half alone, while Dortmund struggled to create any meaningful进攻机会.
In the 18th minute, Bayern broke the deadlock when Serge Gnabry scored his first goal for the club since joining from Arsenal. The Frenchman's powerful strike from outside the box found the top corner and gave the home side a comfortable lead.
Borussia Dortmund responded immediately as they hit back through Jadon Sancho, who volleyed home from close range after a cross from Benjamin Mendy. However, Bayern's dominance continued as Robert Lewandowski doubled their lead just before halftime with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.
The second half saw more of the same as Bayern continued to dominate proceedings. Lewandowski added a third late on with a low shot that beat goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller, before Sané completed the rout with a stunning individual effort.
The win moves Bayern up to fifth place in the table and puts them two points behind league leaders Leipzig. Dortmund remain in eighth, five points adrift of the top four.
Elsewhere, Manchester City maintained their impressive form as they defeated Aston Villa 3-0 away from home. Raheem Sterling scored twice and Phil Foden also got on the scoresheet for Pep Guardiola's men. Meanwhile, Liverpool secured a crucial victory over Crystal Palace as Sadio Mane struck twice in a 4-1 win.
